GP Hub Central Croydon: Good CQC Rating

AT Medics is a leading provider of primary healthcare services in London and recently achieved a “Good” Care Quality Commission (CQC) rating for GP Hub Central Croydon.

A “Good” rating from CQC confirms that Central Croydon Hub has a high standard in all of the CQC five inspection domains, which are Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-led.

The following is a summary letter from the Chief Inspector of General Practice, Professor Steve Field:

We carried out an announced comprehensive inspection at GP Hub Central Croydon on 26 September 2018 as part of our inspection programme.

At this inspection we found:

  • The service had clear systems to manage risk so that safety incidents were less likely to happen. When incidents did happen, the service learned from them and improved their processes.
  • The service routinely reviewed the effectiveness and appropriateness of the care it provided. It ensured that care and treatment was delivered according to evidence- based guidelines.
  • Staff involved and treated patients with compassion, kindness, dignity and respect.
  • Patients found the appointment system easy to use and reported that they were able to access care when they needed it.
  • There was a strong focus on continuous learning and improvement at all levels of the organisation.

Croydon GP Hubs Open Day: After-Event Report with pictures

Croydon GP Hubs hosted a successful Health & Wellness Open Day for all members of the public at Croydon Centrale Shopping Centre on Saturday 15th September 2018.

The event was well attended, mixed with members of the general public, AT Medics staff, Margaret Bird from Croydon council and a number of excellent services for all visitors to access and learn about.

The event was also attended by the Mayor of Croydon, Councillor Bernadette Khan. She said “(I) found the event very informative and thought it was great to be centrally located in the shopping centre- so accessible for Croydon residents. In particular, (I) thought it was very useful in the promotion of self-help with guidance and support for how to access appropriate pathways dependent on our resident’s needs.”

The health services that attended were:

  • Mencap, a charity that represents the interests of people with learning disabilities, their families and carers within the London Borough of Croydon.
  • Croydon Talking Therapies (IAPT), offering talking therapies for anyone registered with a Croydon GP who is feeling depressed, low, stressed or anxious.
  • Croydon MIND, a non-profit organisation working to promote good mental health for people living in Croydon.
  • The London Ambulance Service, the busiest emergency ambulance service in the UK, serving more than eight million people who live and work in the London area.
  • Croydon Vision, who provide a wide range of services to help those who are blind or partially sighted to live as independent, confident and fulfilled lives as possible.
  • Amber Crisis Pregnancy Centre, who support women and their partners, in the South London area, coping with a range of pregnancy related crises.
  • Just Be Croydon, who will be sharing information on their Live Well Croydon programme. The integrated healthy lifestyle service is for residents of Croydon and offers advice, hints and tips on a range of health behaviours, including being alcohol aware, sex safe and food smart.

The event helped to promote the role and benefits of the Hub services, as well as raising awareness about a number of local healthcare service providers accessible through the surgery for patients and the residents of Croydon.

GP Hub Parkway, GP Hub Purley and GP Hub Central Croydon provide extended and urgent access to GP services 365 days a year, from three locations for all residents of Croydon, and have been delivering this service since 2016.

Changes to Online Services – Dec 2017

Dear Patients,

Please note that we are improving our patient software and online services.

You may recall that, as a result of patient feedback, we made changes to enable improved access and choices within our Croydon GP Practices, and this included giving you the choice to access either of our GP Practice sites in Croydon.

Further to this work, our clinical systems are now merging to improve our operations. We want to reassure you that there will be no changes to the way in which we deliver care to you, this is simply to improve our operations.

If you are registered for Online Patient Services (Patient Access) please note that the current service will be offline from Thursday 7 December to Friday 8 December 2017, usual service will resume on Saturday 9 December 2017.

Please note: Valley Park Patients

If you are a patient registered initially at Valley Park Surgery and you access Online Patient Services, we will need to re-register you for online patient services under the new system. We will be proactively reaching out to you to do this, if you have any issues please contact us on docman.h83051@nhs.net. Thank you for your patience whilst the change is in progress.
